There is no way to say whether it is or isn't without actually looking at the mechanics of what you designed for the class. I won't go into super detail as it's not really necessary. I'm not sure what "community" you are referring to specifically, but it might just be that you are posting your ideas in a more general subreddit that isn't interested in Homebrew content? There are many subreddits devoted to sharing homebrew DnD content that are incredibly supportive and helpful, like r/DnDHomebrew or r/UnearthedArcana. There's a very odd thing going on in the community where people see homebrew and instantly, plug their ears, close their eyes, and scream until you delete everything and "admit it's overpowered" Is this proposed class really overpowered? is it really so bad, so overpowered and game breaking to have a dwarf exclusive class On a barbarian And let them duel wield one handed weapons? I could go on but I'm getting ready for bed. Usually with magical damage as well as seen with storm herald, Or Zealot with their once per turn smite. Level 8 for the two feats, fighting style feat to get the duel weapon fighting style, then the actual duel weapon feat.Īll classes and races bar none can use their bonus action to attack with a light one handed weapon provide they are using two, and almost every class has some feature that lets them use their bonus action to attack or stack up damage which might as well be an attack.Īnd keep in mind that making a class feature to be basically a shortcut to usable and flavorful duel wielding instead of getting the feats and fighting styles, and on class that let's just say almost ALWAYS has to use two handed weapons instead of two one handed weapons, specifically Barbarian of which every other subclass can attack with their bonus action and then some. Mind you that a dwarf of ANY class needs only to be level 8 to have full duel wielding capacity with hand axes. There is a lot of junk that lets you duel wield weapons, yet no class centered around it. I won't go into super detail as it's not really necessary, but the homebrew I created was balanced off of things already in the game, compared against already existing archetypes or subclasses, feats you can get and racials.

I had a very lengthy discussion with someone about some homebrew I made.
